Realistic Passion Flower Tattoo Cover-Up

Unfortunately some people get tattoos they regret. The most common tattoos I see people regretting are one's for past lovers. Luckily for all sorts of folks, I love tattooing cover-ups!

Recently I had a young woman search me out to create a cover-up for her. She had the words "'Til death do us part" tattooed on her back and she wanted them gone! She said she wanted a realistic flower tattoo instead, which is my passion! I just love tattooing realistic flowers!

After a brief consultation, we set an appointment date for her to come back and get the tattoo. I spent some time drawing up a nice design for her. Here's what I created:

When she came back to get her tattoo she loved what I had drawn for her, so I got to work creating a beautiful flower tattoo! After about six hours, this is was I had created for her:

Leave a comment and tell me what you think! Would you ever get a tattoo covered up? What do you think about the cover-up I created for this girl?

Day 7 ~ A Sketch A Day

Sometimes when I draw, I conjure up a piece of work I feel quite connected to. This piece is one such creation.

Inspired by the beauty of the human form, today's sketch is that of a woman's face.

This piece calls to me in a way that makes me ache to continue my work with it. This is why you are likely to see more of this drawing in the future! Keep you eyes open, because you may just see some in process pictures, as well as a final drawing of this sketch!

Leave me a comment and let me know what you think? Would you like to see this sketch finished?

Black Dahlia Tattoo

Flowers are some of my most favorite things to tattoo. I'm not too picky about the type of flower but it's always nice to tattoo a more unique flower.

I was recently asked by a very chill client to tattoo a black dahlia flower on him. I had never tattooed this type of flower before, so I was very excited for the opportunity to do so.

He wanted the tattoo to be placed in a unique spot as well. The requested sot was on the back of his arm, just above his elbow. Personally, I think this is a neat spot to have a tattoo!

Here is the line work for his flower.

I tattoo lots of flowers on girls, so it's always interesting when men ask for them. I think more guys would get flowers tattooed on them but they don't, for fear of being mocked. This is quite unfortunate! I think it's all about how you do execute the tattoo, guys!

For example, my client wanted a beautiful flower but he wanted it to still retain an air of masculinity. So instead of creating a super colorful flower, we stuck with dark tones. I used mostly black to color in his flower, along with a wash of burgundy, and pale cream highlights, just to give it life.

In the end he was very happy with his new flower tattoo. Here's had it turned out!

I had so much fun tattooing the black dahlia! It makes me want to tattoo more unique flowers!

A Sketch A Day Every Day For a Year

I have played around with this "A Sketch A Day" project over the last few months, but I've yet to take it very serious. Today that changes!

Every day for the 365 days I will create at least one drawing a day and post it for everyone to see. Some days I may create the beginnings of a masterpiece and other days, I'm sure all I will produce are some simple little drawings.

To start off this year long adventure I would like to post this birdie I drew! Enjoy!

Leave me a comment and let me know what you think! Is he cute, or do you prefer vultures?

A Buffy the Vampire Slayer Tattoo

Creating tattoos that bring back fond memories can be quite rewarding! There is no doubt that, the Buffy the Vampire Slayer tattoo I created earlier this week, did just that!
I remember becoming absorbed in the wild world of Buffy as a teen. Little did I know that I would be tattooing images from the show years later!
Luckily for me, there are other Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans out there! Awesomely enough, one of those fans found me and commissioned me to tattoo her!
She loved the "B" from the Buffy the Vampire Slayer logo but wanted it slightly modified. So I added a bit of definition to the stake in the letter, a few blood drops, and voila! Her design was born!

Do you think it’s cool to get tattoos from popular t.v. show? Would you ever get a Buffy the Vampire Slayer tattoo? Leave a comment and let me know what you think!

Cute Mouse Tattoo

There are so many neat places on the body to tattoo but my favorite spot  is the feet. Yesterday I got to tattoo a really cute door mouse on a girl's foot.
She found some of my work on a site called Reddit and loved the quality of my work. She contacted me and said she had an original drawing that she wanted to have turned into a tattoo for her foot.
After viewing her drawing (which was quite nice), I decided there were only a few things that needed to be changed around to be made more "tattooable". So I booked an appointment for her, made the changes needed to the drawing, and set it in my "to do pile".
A few days later my client came in for her appointment and loved the small changes I made. It took about two hours total to tattoo the whole design and she sat so well.
My client said she enjoyed the whole experience so much, that she will be coming back soon for another tattoo from me!

Realistic Anemone Flowers Tattoo

I love tattooing all sorts of things, but there are some pieces that just make my heart sing. This realistic anemone flower tattoo is one of those pieces that makes my heart hum a gleeful tune!
I had such a good time tattooing this for my client who sat so well and
still.
As a representation of important people in her life, this tattoo means a lot to my client. I feel it is an honor to have created this realistic flower tattoo for her.

July Tattoo Special!!!

Hello Folks!
This month I have something that I'm really excited to share with you. As I'm sure you all know, I love tattooing flowers. What you might now know, is that I am obsessed with an artist named Alphonse Mucha. He is one of my greatest inspirations. When I look at his wonderful creations, it encourages me to keep working and improving in my art.
In honor of the great Alphonse Mucha, July's tattoo special will be flowers with art nouveau style swirls. To give you an idea of what I have in mind, here is a quick sketch I drew up.
I will also be giving discounts on select Alphonse Mucha pin-ups or pin-ups/ busts that are drawn in this style. To give you a taste of this style I have provided you with just a few of my favorite works of art from this great creator.
So, stop on by  this July and talk to me about your new Mucha- inspired tattoo!
